GMs, do you ever give NAMES to sessions? And if so, if it before or after they're actually played? https://dice.camp/media/V7RjHlPvXDRxovGC7Lk
@BusterLaser I used to, when I ran Tenra. The names that worked always were things that would be revealed in the world and were vague enough that the episode would still be titled fittingly regardless of what the players did. "Death of a Lord" ended with a lord being dethroned and dishonored rather than killed, but the name still fit.
Chris Perkins does a very good job of naming episodes before they happen over at the official D&D stream Dice, Camera, Action!
@BusterLaser
I do for play by email games, to help distinguish chapters.
@BusterLaser Our GMs almost always name and tell us the name of sessions before we begin, so they're mostly thematic rather than plot driven.
For our haunted house game this last summer, the player with the most drama points at the end of the sessions got to pick the name of the next episode from a list of Tragically Hip song titles, and so subtly push the events a bit.
@BusterLaser I organize my sessions as Facebook events, so I always name them after the adventure or location. One notable exception was an event that got re-named after play to "TPK at the Murder Swamp." 😅
@BusterLaser I have, after the session was played. Usually something that highlighted the drama, but sometimes it was just something funny a player might have said
