Ok, I love #GURPS, but it is obvious no one who wrote it had any experience with engineers.
For one, there is no mechanical engineering skill. There is a small arms skill, and a automotive skill, but by the rules, there is no skill to design a lathe, or a vacuum pump, or anything like that.
The categories are just REALLY strange. If I do it, I'm going to break it up into the uni specialties:
Mechanical
Electronic
Areospace
Civil
Environmental
Chemical
Car? Mechanical, or for racecars possibly Areospace
Bridge? Civil
Plane? Areospace
Pump? Mechanical
Giant vat of chemicals? Chemical
Will that river flood? Environmental. (Don't think that one will come up much, but eh).
Radio? Transformer? Television? Electronic.
