random Devi fact:
if you have ever played a TTRPG with me in person or online, i have anxiety-slash-adhd-folded a paper crane in every single session
I'm also 99% certain that I have never been in a discord/any voice chat without folding at least one.
Is there a routine, habit or Thing you do during sessions to help focus/chill?
I've gotten into the habit of painting random miniatures whenever I play stuff on Discord-- it's a nice alternative to clicking through windows or whatnot while waiting to come up in initiative turn order, and all that.
Plus, if I ever wanna run some in-person D&D or somesuch, I'll be set!
@Devierue I solve and mix a rubiks cube over and over again while I narrate as a DM.
I sometimes have three of them on my desk at a time so I can mix-mix-mix to solve-solve-solve on repeat.
If I can stand while I'm talking I'll sometimes juggle tennis balls as well. But then I tend to make "winded breathing" noises into my mic which nobody ever comments on, but I'm super conscious about.
@archfossil oooh!
Yeah, physical activity would have me self-conscious for the same reason; I was once a guest on a podcast and made myself lightheaded being ridiculous about ensuring I never breath-triggered the mic.
I'll often sketch, doodle, or work on art - usually only if I'm doing 'busy work' on it. If I have to focus too much on construction or 'building', I'll tune out whatever's around me and start going down different mental rabbit holes.
