Our final map in our exploration of the Midsummer Lands - Map 6 is centred around Great Faerie Lake and the smaller (but much deeper) Deep Gnome Lake.
We have several cities of note, as well as significant ancient elven ruins to explore...

games like stardew valley and animal crossing are popular with millennials because they let you experience post-industrial fantasies like "having a non-adversarial relationship with your neighbors" and "knowing where your food comes from" and "walking to the store".

If you are planning to join a protest or march or go to any place you might be bothered by police: your phone is an enormous narc.
If you’re not going to use a burner phone, at very least put it in airplane mode and only take it out if you need to make an emergency contact.
Temporarily turn off the biometric lock so cops can’t search it without your permission.
Here’s how to do it on iOS: https://daringfireball.net/2022/06/require_a_passcode_to_unlock_your_iphone
These instructions might work for Android: https://codepre.com/en/como-deshabilitar-temporalmente-el-lector-de-huellas-digitales-y-el-bloqueo-inteligente-en-android-p.html

It'd be a real pity if some hackers got into Crisis Pregnancy Centers and wiped their databases and records, since that data will very likely be used to prosecute people for seeking abortions and other repro healthcare. #BoostsWelcome #BoostsAppreciated
One reason I love Smallworld so much is that it gives my creativity a kickstart. The combos starts to spin out stories when I see them, and it just get even stronger when they interacts with the board (that is one reason I like the Underground version better than the base one, more stuff on the board).
While this set up is a bit vanilla, Tomb Mummies, please! Stone Barbarians sounds promising, Vampire Kobolds and Vanishing Mimes a basis for a horror story and Mud Cultists, is that Tsathoggua?
Now I have checked the boxes that most apparently contains games, and no Smallworld (a bunch of other games that I may play solo instead before putting them in storage).
This week on my podcast, I read my recent Medium column, "Reasonable Agreement: On the Crapification of Literary Contracts," about the alarming standardization of non-negotiable (and terrible) contracting terms in freelance writing contracts:

I started selling to magazines in the 1980s, a moment when Reagan's antitrust deregulation drove waves of mergers in the market.

They did it. They fucking did it. The whole west was crowing about how they’d finally suffer like all of us and they didn’t. It’s no coincidence that twitter won’t even let you RT Chinese news sources now. Being able to see what fucking cruel useless failures our leaders are compared to what’s possible is very dangerous
About Peter's Principle OR why everyone sucks at their job. People who excel at work are promoted, to a point where they are incompetent. With every promotion, you are closer to newer and more complex job needs. This incrementally makes you worse at you...

Not only the rules, but also the base gameboards. Hmmm wonders if there is enough stuff to play with just the underground rules or if there is something essential missing. Hmmmmm
Oh, grognards:
> 13 When I told them the quest involved talking and investigation [they] said if there was nobody to kill in a hole in the ground they were not interested.
This is literally the story of The Witcher books:
> 22 Now the kingdom has law and order and no rampaging unhappy barbarians or humanoids left alive in the kingdom do we really need drunken old monster hunters?

Really good game, much faster than I thought at first. You can get a real brain burn the last few turns and analysis-paralysis. But as the options disappears as workers are placed it soon picks up the pace again.
