@kensanata @paulczege I think I got to about age 13 before I realized I could just stop playing the sports I hated that they kept signing me up for, and it totally changed my life.

Probably I’ll focus on 2400 first, even though I’m afraid it’s the biggest mess. 🙌🚀🤖

ItO/EB hacks on my docket include:

Agents of the O.D.D. Revised (earlier edition submitted to another jam)

2400 (space/sci-fi toolkit)

Downtown Crossing (urban spelunking into the underworld)

Untitled Roadside Picnic ripoff (stalker backgrounds, items & zone generator)

Also, kudos to the player whose eyes got sealed shut but remembered the group has a glass eye arcanum that can be used as a remote eye. It’s now strapped to her head. Same player who, in another campaign, fed her leg to the Antiphoenix, and replaced it with a saint’s hand.

Thanks to @fuseboy@twitter.com for Avorask, creepiest enemy/pal in my campaign.

That “ally,” btw, was the “end boss” they tricked and fled from in a previous adventure. He fully intended to fight to the death this time until they were like, “Wait wait let’s be pals though!” Then they let him wander NYC, sealing the eyes shut of any who gazed upon him.

My Agents of the O.D.D. group is (unwittingly?) leaning in HARD to the theme of trying to do good things by working with bad people. Ended last night’s session on a cliffhanger while their new “ally” covered an innocent person with beetles and forcibly mutated them.

Maybe it could be as simple as saying that you always get “initiative,” but asking questions about what you perceive counts as your turn. If you are afraid of getting attacked by a monster, you have to shoot first, damn the consequences.

I think my main complaint with stress systems is that I don’t like as the GM having to remember to hand out stress, and this doesn’t actually solve for that. But I dig the idea of encouraging people to be panicky and reckless to support the intended mood.

GM: “There’s a growling sound from the shadows, and something moves. a lone eye glints in the half light. Take 1 stress—“

Player: “GAAA I SHOOT IT”

GM: “Okay, you take no stress, but the cleaning robot slumps over, sparking.”

Considering a possible panic rule for horror RPGs: GM describes something terrifying in extremely vague terms. Take stress (or Willpower damage or whatever) to do anything EXCEPT respond reflexively and panicky.

Yes I know a gnome bard is suboptimal, but at the time I wanted to talk to animals more than I wanted to succeed at rolls. In a game that turns out to focus on combat, that turned out to be a bad call. 🤷‍♂️

Joined a D&D group excited to finally get my tiefling warlock to the table, only to find somebody else already playing one. Four levels in, he decides he hates warlocks and wants to switch. Wonder if we can work out a Freaky Friday scenario so I can unload this gnome bard. 🤔

Well, now I have to do a runoff 🤔

Only so many hours in a day, so help me figure out which RPG to focus on RIGHT NOW:

• 2400 (Mothership × Into the Odd)
• Feather & Flame (In Nomine × Lasers & Feelings)
• Casting Shadows (Invisible Sun/Amber × Soft Horizon)
• Exhumed (soulslike one-page-dungeon campaign)

(And I’m still not sure 2400 will be Into the Odd based, but it sounds better than “Mothership × Hit+Die, maybe“)

(Names are tentative, and I’m still working on Agents of the O.D.D. and ALIGHT in the meantime too because I’m a scatterbrain)

Ultraviolet Grasslands arrived while I was listening to the doom metal playlist I made from bands I learned about from the UVG Spotify playlist. Thanks, @stratometaship@twitter.com & @ExaltedFuneral@twitter.com 🤘❤️

Ugh or that soulslike campaign module? TOO MANY IDEAS FOR ATTACKING AND DETHRONING GOD(s)
