Game Start Questions
In giving advice for campaign planning, my advice looks more and more like the post-first-session stuff from Apocalypse World.
I'm okay with that.
The idea of planning a level 1 to level 20 campaign from start to finish is nutty to me.
If not AW, I'd point someone towards Mythic Bastionland's hex map prep stuff.
Princess Glorious Chaos
I kind of love the idea of following a lost adventurous child with the hope of saving them when maybe they don't need saving.
And if you aren't sure how to make a setting for that - just take a normal every day fantasy thing and add Princess Glorious Chaos...
Game Start Questions
So many questions about where to start and the answer is in a conversation with the players.
Even if the answer isn't coming from them directly - the inspiration for that answer probably is.
And that is another GM Advice Thread.
As always, thoughts and reflections are welcome.
@Judd For "BBEG" I make a few Antagonists early on in a campaign, figure out their plans. Then I carry them out, post information around, and if the players interfere, then that's an adventure. There's no "players must encounter X, Y, Z" plans.
