Hey, so, if anyone around here is going to the #FFXIV #Fanfest, please pack and use sunscreen, even if you plan to spend as much time as you can indoors.
It's a high desert region, and if you're not used to that, you will burn and you will dehydrate. The region only just had a major heatwave break.
Watch yourselves and others for signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and for your own sake, pack a couple bottles of water. You're gonna need them, it's dry as well as hot.
I'm saying this as someone local to the region who looked at when they were scheduling it, laughed a bit, and refused to even consider trying to get tickets.
In the heart of the city, it'll be well above 100F/40C during the day, and that heat is going to linger through the night because that's what cities do with all the concrete, mirrored glass, and asphalt.
Take care of yourselves first and foremost while you're there.
Also, if you have a latex allergy and get sunburnt anyhow, get some teabags and brew some tea, then soak towels in the tea after it cools and put it across the burns. It'll help soothe and cool the sunburn.

@Kassil Will also add something else important here and with some personal notes after. GO TO THIS LINK AND READ EVERYTHING.

Take these symptoms *absolutely seriously* because your life can be at risk very quickly (and if you pass out from even heat exhaustion you can get major burns from landing on a hot surface/fall from a height/get hit by a car etc - you don't have to get full on heatstroke to be in severe danger)
If you have *any* of the heat exhaustion ones (even just feeling slightly dizzy and tired, or alternately suddenly super energetic like you've caught a big adrenaline rush and can do anything) COOL YOURSELF OFF IMMEDIATELY. Go somewhere with super cool AC, get in front of some cool air in that place, drink some water, put a cool wet towel over your neck and shoulders.
if you *stop* sweating and suddenly feel super dry, or you feel majorly "off" in any way that immediately cooling down doesn't help CALL 911.
