It's a sad reality that the reasonable middle ground position attracts the far right like a neutron star, because they're desperate for even a hint in their direction.

I can't watch a Metatron video without getting absolutely overrun by right-wing nuttery in the comments.

It's also annoying because I know that things he say will become fuel for the alt right, so I find myself mentally bracing myself for things he say and how it will be taken as gospel by bigots.

I don't believe he is a racist or bigot. He has a brash tone and idolises a few questionable people (PragerU, Elon Musk) who have an outspoken bigoted view, but the things *he* says are usually well researched and largely reasonable.

It's just unfortunate he gets lumped in with the crazy alt-right and they flock to him because of it.

It's kind of like with the #ttrpg space where #osr tends to invoke feelings of bigotry and misogyny to outsiders because these elements within the space have been very loud and outspoken, giving OSR a bad name. I initially worded this in a way that could imply that most people in the OSR was this way, and for that I apologize. Not what I intended.

Every time I see "OSR", however, I instinctively breathe in sharply through my teeth because of said experiences with the loud people in that space.
