The #ttrpg space, moments before players arrived last night! #shadowdark #RappanAthuk #osr
@KeroZelvin Nice space!
@KeroZelvin how do you like Shadowdark thus far?
@hexedpress I love it! We switched over to it earlier this year from #CY_BORG and #PirateBorg and it’s been fun to dungeon crawl old school style!
@KeroZelvin nice! Did you find that SD did something those other systems didn’t or did you just want to change things up?
@hexedpress It’s a very elegant and concise version of DnD. For me, it is easy to run, for players easy to play. Less complex than OSE, but still has mechanics that contribute to resource management challenge and make for good dungeon crawling.
@KeroZelvin Nice setup!
I can't believe you're actually running that monstrosity. I bought Rappan Athuk years ago, but it's always been too intimidating for me to try running.
@dHeinemann I love Rappan Athuk! It is kind of crazy, though pretty manageable compared to Arden Vull!
@KeroZelvin Wow, tremendous
@KeroZelvin Your space is amazing! I've wanted to play Rappan Athuk since it came out. Enjoy!
@deidungeon Thanks! I love setting the space up for game night!
@KeroZelvin That’s a really rad ttrpg space! I’ll can setup a similar space when I start running in person games at my place again.
Also, Rappan Athuk is one of the things in my “RPG bucket list.” How does it play with Shadowdark? Are you tracking light sources in real time?
@imtony the S & W version is running easy with Shadowdark, I can basically convert the rare saving throw on the fly. Most of the stats are just straight usable, especially since the S & W version of Rappan Athuk has ascending AC listed as well as descending.

@imtony I do use real time light sources! You can actually see the led lanterns with 1 hour timers that I use in the video. They work amazingly and usually cut out at the complete worst time for the players! I set the lantern(s) in front of the player(s) carrying a torch which feels nice at the table.
