I had hoped to get more blogging done this year but with the state of <waves arms at world> I need to find replacements for a whole bunch of stuff.

* I'm no longer on Twitter or participating in Facebook
* Goodreads account long abandoned; can someone recommend a genre fiction Bookwyrm instance?
* Blogger is owned by GMail, so I'd like to move off of it - any platforms any better?
* What should we move to for a browser that isn't fascist enabling?

@SubplotKudzu have you looked at writing on Substack?

@SeaGenes
I had not, but I'm not really of a mind to monetize my hobbies. For a lot of real life reasons that never ends up coming to completion, so I'm more looking for an older school blogging platform to whisper my nonsense into the aether.

@goodenoughllc @jedda @SubplotKudzu pika is great. My brother started using it earlier this year, and he quite likes the flow.

And I feel like their website has gotten quite fast recently, tho I can't prove this - it just felt faster.
