Augury Ignored

Oathmark and homebrew systems aside, are there any good campaign systems/frameworks out there for miniature wargaming? Isolated battles are fun and all, but linked narrative scenarios will always be my favorite way to play.

@auguryignored I'm sure you already know about it, but Frostgrave seems to have a pretty good narrative campaign system.

@68000 Will be playing Frostgrave soon, actually! It's brilliant.

@auguryignored not that I know of, other than the really old GW (orcs drift and mcdeath) sets.

Henry Hyde has a recent book, Wargames Campaigns, out that might be worth a look, but it is more historical based, and the old Tony Bath WRG book on wargames campaign has a mine of info on creating your own.

Sounds like a gap in the market.

@auguryignored Have you met my friend #5150 ?

Everything from squad level man-to-man up to company on company, fleet on fleet, fighters on fighters, and even Marine boarding operations.

Each of which comes with its own campaign-level system. Run them all simultaneously for extra fun.

@lextenebris Thanks, gonna check this out! Looks quite fun.

@auguryignored I think you might enjoy it. If you just want to see the core mechanics and how it plays without some of the RPG/campaign-level stuff, there is a free version of the Chain Reaction rules in the free section on the store.

Or I can ramble for about 16 hours straight about it. Whatever works better for you.

@auguryignored blood and plunder has a campaign system and the setting is perfect for linked small actions.
