“Now, this is where I cheat a little bit on the tactics…the Tiger [is] supposed to shoot the first tank in the column, which forces the column to stop and then you shoot the last one and then you pick off the guys in the middle… If they shoot the first tank, Brad Pitt is dead, movie’s over, roll credits. That’s not really fun.”
David Ayer GETS IT here IMO. If you want realism, join the military or something. #Film #Movies #BehindTheScenes #Director #Interview https://youtu.be/t2nOc606hSQ
#Fury is definitely one of my favorite war movies of the past decade. There’s an unflinching brutality as well as tons of heart and stellar character performances. Each member of the tank crew is memorable & empathetic in their own morally gray way. https://youtu.be/qRYpSFWmJu8
Between this and T-34 I’m still wanna run a fantasy TANK adventure kinda like a grittier Valkyria Chronicles. It’d be neat to design my own system, because it’s profound how perfectly each main crew-member of Fury fits some sort of #ttrpg character trope; top’s a ranger, mechanic’s doing artificer duty, gunner’s an evocation wizard, etc.
