Update on the #witcher game I posted about before (see link below).
My players figured out that a troll up in the mountains was stealing goats and meat from a farming village to feed a pack of abandoned dogs that he'd adopted. They figured this out *after* they'd poisoned a carcass to use as bait, but *before* the troll took it and fed it to the dogs. Phew!
The crucial pieces of the jigsaw went together today, which was "attacks from abandoned dogs have gone way down, at exactly the same time the thefts of meat and livestock from the village have gone up"
Weird mental image from today's session, the troll has been heard drunkenly singing Redanian lullabies to his dogs. The person who heard the gravelly singing was the sole survivor of a group of four Redanian soldiers who got pelted with boulders after wandering too close to the troll's territory. Seems the troll doesn't much like soldiers.
