Dear Abby, I never thought it would happen to me...
But I honestly just configured my #IRC clients in a way that I prefer to other chat clients, and it does involve tmux (as byobu) and both irssi and weechat...
...and also bitlbee, znc, and ngircd.
@kyonshi I've never seen a good reason to move...
Do you have a good solution for grab and drop graphics sharing in games on it?
@Printdevil we are working in that one, but right now I think either the lounge or convos as web portals, or switching to jitsi meet for voice/video/screensharing sessions
(Convos integrates jitsi meet as an optional video chat link in the chat window, I have a convos installation on http://wilderland.ovh:8000 if you want to try it out, or the lounge on http://wilderland.ovh:9000 )
@kyonshi Drop and drag for props and docs was the only thing I ever really wanted as a client standard gaming on Irc. DCC never worked...
@Printdevil what networks are you on BTW? Anything that's interesting?
@kyonshi None really anymore, I was on Dal for years then exodus to sorcery for a long long time, Darkmyst on and off. I just love irc as a medium, it's so pure. I sort of keep an open interest in it because I always think "if someone I decide to run games online I want to do IRC+ the plus being all the things that bugged me in the 90s solved"
I dipped into discord and hated it.
@Printdevil discord really is kind of ugh. I can't stand this particular mix of chat and forum it has. I have like 2-3 servers I actually interact with and a lot more that I want to like but I just don't have the mental capacity for.
@kyonshi Discord just seems like a chat server that keeps trying to sell me shoes or something.
"Ok, now just typing ok? Just text?"
"Sure.. and the shoes"
*turns of shoes option*
"Ok, but this tie would go nicely with the shoes"
*turns off the thing which detects what documents I'm doing, what game I'm playing, what my system is*
"Well, let's discuss Nitro and selling your words to Ai"
