Couple of days ago I was pondering what the 21st century Appendix N would look like ... or should look like.

I think some works in the original Appendix N are a quite problematic, if not outright sexist.

So in the light of the current frenzy in the community.

Isn't it time to adjust cultural assumtions in ?

Like a decade before Gygax was doing his thing, Moorcock and Le Guin were critical of the underlying assumptions of Tolkien and Pulp Fantasy.

It's really time for SF/F to stop uncritically rehashing century old tropes. On top of distasteful-isms, it's kinda old hat and boring now.
