The should be able to use its spellcasting ability for attack rolls, and its spell save DC for any saving throw its shape's actions or traits trigger. This would make those shapes naturally scale in power as you invest in druid levels, even letting you pick normally lower challenge ratings to achieve specific traits or flavor. There, fixed another playtest!

Granted, they already included this fix in PHB Playtest 4 by making the template wild shapes use your WIS for STR and DEX, then UNfixed it in Playtest 6. I realize they won't go back to stat block templates (which is too bad, that idea had merit and just needed the ability to add custom traits), but this feels like a really simple fix for making wild shapes combat-viable at higher levels. WIS+PB is how spell attacks scale and would be a perfect fit for natural weapon attacks.

If they think that math is too complicated, then just add WIS modifier to all attack rolls, damage rolls, and save DCs on the beast stat block (rather than recalculating the base rolls). Makes it akin to the barbarian's rage damage bonus. If there's a concern of the DCs being overpowered, cap them and scale that cap by level, but again, that's just reinventing the scaling already in place for druid spell save DCs.
