I joined Nextdoor day-before-yesterday so I can connect with more strangers in my area (#CharlestonWV) and hopefully recruit #TTRPG players.
I posted in a Nextdoor "Gaming/Anime/CCG" group for Charleston about looking for players for #Pathfinder1e and a guy has already contacted me expressing interest for he and a friend. They don't have any previous experience with #P1e, just #DnD5e, but that's fine by me.
He said they like horror-themed stuff, so we're off to a good start.
I haven't heard anything from the guy that expressed interest in playing #Pathfinder1e since 11 Nov.
I messaged him on Weds (22 Nov) and asked him if he was still interested, but I don't know if he'll reply. I'll give him until the end of the month (so until next Friday, 01 Dec).
It looks like it's back to square one for recruiting for my in-person #CharlestonWV #P1e game.
@kingu
Don't I know it.
I think this guy just decided that he wasn't interested and elected not to even have the decency to say "Nah, it's not for me."
On the upside, if that's the case at least I get to discover that he's an ass sooner rather than later.
@munroe Too bad I'm a francophone living far away, I would join :-)
It may reach the point where an international on-line game is my only option, but I'm not there yet. I much prefer to play in-person. I'm just going to keep working on it and looking for players.
I want to put together a 3-5 session narrative and encounter arc for when I do have some players willing to give it a shot.
I don't even have the equipment for a proper online game. I'd want a decent HD camera to GM an online game.
The last time I owned a webcam was 2002 and it captured video at 640x480 and 15 fps.
Yeah, I know a camera isn't necessary, but without one I'd feel that much further disconnected from the players.
But, I'll worry about that when I surrender to the online-only option.
