Reading my #XMen comics and trying to get my head around the sprawling story.
I collect a lot of the core titles (X-Men, #XForce, #NewMutants #Mauraders) but then stuff happens in the titles I don't collect (#SWORD) and suddenly there are new alliances and allegiances I didn't know about. Thankfully, I'm far enough behind that I can catch up on those side stories in Marvel Unlimited (as a Marvel guy, its well worth the monthly subscription).
My current quest is understanding the machinations and alliances of the anti-mutant Orchis organization, which has pulled in a few one-time heroes that I wouldn't have expected to be working for them.
It's not like a I need a mystery board with index cards and yarn to keep track of it all, but as a fiftysomething geek who doesn't read as religiously as I used to, it's a little harder to keep up.
@nukehavoc It's definitely a lot, but I'd recommend Al Ewing's X-books as a core part of the macro story. He's a really good writer, and his character work in the midst of doing the X-Men side of Marvel cosmic is some of the best in the line.
@jasonkjones Alright, I'll need to catch up on #XMenRed then :) I read his run on #ImmortalHulk and loved it. It was a great throwback to the horror comics of old, and turned gamma into something more than just another kind of radiation.
