I keep falling in hate with Pathfinder, but when I analyze it further, I realize its because I'm looking at it from the lens of d&d5e, and that I MUST be missing information on my analysis. Does anyone know of a video or write up that compares the economy of both games?

@pangoriaF@dice.camp imo, the reason Pathfinder 2e feels scared of power is because they are. They designed the system in a very knee-jerk reaction to the level of power you could have in PF1, and overtuned everything in the system to keep it controllable.
The best game to compare PF2 to is, imo, D&D4e. They are both sequels to 3.Xe, and the design of both games is heavily influenced by the extreme sides of 3.Xe, leading to overtuning in certain areas in an effort to make sure that the new game can't recreate those sides.
