@panoptikontraband Depends on what I'm using it for.

Last minute 'oh shit, what am I running tonight?' - a full plot is good.

If I've got, say, an hour to think things over, though, just a 'here's the area, here's the major players, here's some notes, and here's an inkling of what might happen' is great.

@panoptikontraband The best adventures give me *motivations* for the NPCs and then a series of set pieces to try to bring into play.
Understanding the puzzle is way more important than the plot/timeline.

"Blorb is a prep-focused playstyle, and prep is central, but never prep plot.

Do prep entities. Places, enemies, friends, items, rewards. Porte-Monstre-Trésor.

What happens should be emergent, not prewritten."

When you run an adventure module, do you prefer to have the entire adventure plotted out in detail, or to have maybe a rough timeline and examples of events in a more or less detailed setting?

Hey friends, if you can pass this on to any Tabletop people who might use it, I'd appreciate it!

I've been doing voiceovers since 2015, but I played my first game of D&D in 1991.

I've voiced for Guinness, The UN and a lot of others, but not much in #TTRPG area.

If you have a project, I'd love to voice it for like 20% of my normal fee.

From one year ago:
The / memes want you to believe that "Crying is a free action", but that's bullshit. Shedding a tear? Maybe. But crying properly? That's a *ritual*.

really has the stupidest algoritms. There are so many stupid things on that site, and in my morbid curiosity I like to check out the store page to see if that thins is as stupid as the thumbnail. Etsy of course sees this as genuine interest, and fills my recommendations with more stupid. So now all I see on Etsy is stupid.

Well at least I mnaged to make something new for the patreon now. The pressure of having to produce something at least hs me writing something small.

Tried to put words on my design philosophy and ended up with: I'd rather play another fun card than a tutor.

They originally got the name Delumination Snails because the little bastards like to eat the ink off parchment. It was blind luck that someone discovered that if you put one on a page lightly coated with a gum wash, it'll eat the wash & leave behind a slime trail in the form & color of the last work it consumed.

Amazing how kids shows rehabilitate psychotic mass murderers like the green goblin and the joker and make them cuddly :)

I've managed to grab an intermediate version of xcode from outside of the official install channel and it's working Just Fine on this older version of MacOS 😱

Blergh. Have not been in the mood to write anything for weeks, playing over discord makes me feel disconnected, and my playgroup that I play with irl seems less than enthusiastic most of the time. I need feeback on stuff, but also don't want to ask for feedback, which seems like a nice and healthy loop going straight down the drain.

Finally gave in and bought Mörk Borg after reeading and loving Ork Borg, but I made up for the rules light by also buying Against the Darkmaster which also seems awesome.

I really wanna play in the Judge Dredd setting because of nostalgia, but I'm unsure of how a Judge Dredd game actually runs? Playing judges seems kinda prohibiting, but playing anything else doesn't really feel as iconic, unless playing I dunno, the Angel gang or something? Anyone got any experience running Judge Dredd?

Hi, new followers! If you want to see what I really think about roleplaying game design, you should read & play The BLOODY-HANDED NAME of BRONZE!

It’s a demon-haunted world where everything is how it is because it wants to be, and you can convince it otherwise.

It’s also my best-ever game design that I released the weekend the world closed in 2020. Oops.

There’s a lot of sexy animal-headed gods and petrified giants.
