@pawsplay Schoolchild in 179 BCE Fangmatan, China, about to have a surprise

@pawsplay It sure took less time to make Startcraft more balanced :marseylaugh:

@pawsplay I doubt that there were many ties in the rock-only era.

@pawsplay

This changes a lot of we include Lizard and Spock though 🫤🖖

@pawsplay I would argue Rock Paper Scissors isn't very balanced. The rock meta is ruined because of bloody paper players! A patch is long overdue.

@pawsplay devs are a bit slow to patch out misbalances

@pawsplay Why bother inventing scissors *before* inventing paper?

@pawsplay back in my day we played rock sharp rock tablet

@pawsplay @clarfonthey The game was also balanced in the period between the Big Bang and the formation of rocks, in which it was referred to as ""

@yoavlavi @pawsplay @clarfonthey That time period was also "All ties", wasn't it?

@glen_malley we’re all still paying homage to the history when we say 最初はグー

@pawsplay “Large body of historical data suggests the advantage of rock strategy.”

@pawsplay ok but what about Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock?
(Lizard eats paper and poisons Spock, is crushed by rock and decapitated by scissors)
(Spock vaporizes rock and beats scissors somehow, is poisoned by lizard and disproven by paper)

@pawsplay I always felt that rock smashing scissors was a more effective attack than paper simply covering the rock, TBH. A paper-covered rock can still smash the scissors.

@jab01701mid @pawsplay Also: try cutting the paper with scissors while it’s wrapped around the rock. Rock-paper alliance reigns supreme.

@pawsplay
i woulda thought that the invention of shears was much much closer domestication of sheep @_@

how did people shear sheep before the invention of … shears?

@meena @pawsplay I would guess with any blade? Not ideal but still ok. With a razor like motion I'm sure you can be quite efficient

@meena @pawsplay hmm, you’ve got me going down a rabbit hole now 🧐 Wikipedia says woolly sheep began to be developed ~6000BCE but also that ancient breeds of sheep could have their wool collected either naturally (it just shed) or by hand through a process called “rooing” (still done with some breeds today)!
