@JohnWSheldon you already using uBlock Origin? You can add additional lists of blockable content, in including some annoyances.

@Judd this time I took a quick note... I just wanted to say that the thematic taglines for magic schools are GREAT, but in particular the image that stayed with me for some reason is the "huge spellbook used as a coffee table". That's brilliant and hilarious :)

@Judd will do, will do... assuming I remember! ;-P

I should start taking short impromptu voice notes perhaps? Maybe the google assistant...

@Judd I've listened to the first 2 eps so far and I'm happy to hear your voice again Judd, and in a format I can fit in my now short commute (I'm not complaining!).

I remember you saying on the 'cast that Anchor lets you comment/message you but I don't think I see how... am I being dense? :)

The main problem with podcasts discussion for me is that I want to comment while listening. Then get out of the car, and forget ^___^;;

Toh, un @gigiopix ...per ora sappi che sono piuttosto silente, quindi se non vedi traffico da qua non sono necessariamente morto :-P

@rafial surprise Wilhelm, I'm now moving your mouse! :-P

I'm gonna keep posting this until one of you fucking boosts it

I am 110% down for shipping Lara Croft and Wonder woman (art by stjepan sejic)

The Dictionary of Mu is up for pre-order, shipping in early January.

The Dictionary of Mu is a pulp fantasy setting supplement for Ron Edwards' Sorcerer RPG where demons are dead things, bits of history made wrong. Players will decide the fate of the planet through play, adding to the dictionary as they go and creating a deeper and richer history with every demonic summoning.

@edheil you mean in apps? Well, less glare, and on oled screens even less battery consumption.

@edheil I think even RMS' fans agree he's kind of a dick with zero human interaction abilities. And he doesn't have that many fans.

People that had to accomodate him for guest appearances (will not name names) at events were... less than amused.

@Halfjack hmm, yeah you're right, super-small-run (even 100 copies) is not POD like you were thinking about. I agree with you but... Lulu seems super static, Amazon I suspect doesn't *want* to support a 3rd party business (KS).

@Halfjack for single books, yes.

For tiny runs (500 copies or less)... I've been to a printer that only does digital, to pick up copies when we were printing for Janus: they have zero IT, no computer skills. If they have a website, it's run by someone else (or horribly outdated).

@Halfjack POD are basically just digital printing shops with a website to collect the pdf and orders... but the shops remained the same old-school shit: big wharehouses full of giant printers and stacks of paper and spare parts.

I suspect they were never really reached by the innovation, it was just a new way to get orders.

But yes, it would be nice to have a more modern integration.

@rafial that's probably from a database of "model name <-> USB Vendor/Product ID"... changing productID when there's no need is bad form (not that Samsung cares, for example). MTP/ADB has not changed in a while, I guess :)

Re-watching the X-Files episode written by Gibson (Kill Switch) I just noticed a tiny detail (who knows how intentional) for the first time.

The golden burned CD-ROM they find in Gelman's laptop plays "Twilight Time".

Who remembers the underground CDs that were popular in the Nineties, chock-full of pirated software? Yep. Twilight.

One thing Whalebird does not do, and it's a biggie: How am I supposed to follow conversations if when I click on a message I don't see the reconstructed thread (previous and subsequent reply chain).
