Satchel 🎲💼

I am working on fictitious "empirical evidence" I can present to my players as plot hooks. So far I have produced a handful of "intercepted memoranda" detailing enemy plans for imminent a) expansion, or b) attack. I've also been developing a style for "precognitive premonitions" to which one PC has access. Depicting calamity, these visions are also maybe too vague: "head off the attack" is a middling sort of to give players, however.

What can they do but show up? Needs more hook.

@satchel put them in the vision. If they decide to show up, the vision is true. If they don’t, they don’t get to see the nasty thing you’ll do instead.

Or. Give them a second vision that while they sit with their feet up, their allies, NPC and the treasure are taken.

@lategamer Why now can't I shake the idea of a premonition in which the PCs make total fools of themselves.

"The mist parts and you see yourself down at the Tombs of Belandra... and what's this? You're wearing a lampshade on your head? Now you're dancing on the table! The Count is there with the reliquary, and everyone is laughing! Then the vision fades. Oh, no, you better go stop this whole set of circumstances from coming to pass!"

@satchel Yeah, or separate visions of each of them dying in horrible separate ways everywhere but where the mission is taking place.

In fact the only safe place is in close proximity to their doom
