While everybody expected Sigil VTT would make its money through endless stream of micro-transactions, Hasbro apparently thought a VTT was like a regular GI Joe action figure toy -- once you design it, you can have money rolling in with no additional cost or effort.
When they finally learned that's not how VTT works, they lost interest.
