my new bot is hosted on heroku and needs to persist exactly 1 (one) integer that increments
right now i'm a config var which is fine until the dyno reboots which is like, pretty often and also at random
the free heroku redis tier explicitly says it's not persistent
i *incredibly* don't want to spin up an entire goddamned postgres db to hold one (1) integer, and similarly don't want to spend $any/month to upgrade to a persistent redis plan
