I know that I need to reset the very confused and mixed messages I've had my whole life.
They have always included both being lazy and at the same time being a workaholic - I've always been confused by these.
For example today starts with me feeling I'm lazy because after a poor sleep until about 4am I didn't start getting up until after 10.30am, started work after 11am.
However, I've then worked until 11.30pm with 1 break (about an hour) which makes me feel a workaholic.

Thank you to the #ADHD, #Dyslexic and #VisionImpaired people here on mastadon who asked for audiobooks of my writings. The more people tell me their access needs, the better position I am in to encourage/ convince my publishers to make my work #Accessible.

Delighted my latest publisher agreed to make an #Audiobook of Wired Our Own Way; An Anthology of #Autistic Irish voices, which will be released tomorrow. Not sure all the platforms it will be on yet.

@matty@blahaj.zone The jokes. They've been coming for years. Gets a bit frustrating having the impulse to do a great and funny photoshop and finding my skills lacking. I never seem to find/make the time to learn, either. (#ADHD).

I mean, I can do simple forms of it. This here required a little bit of it, getting my photographed and heavily GIMP-ed toy next to the art of the smaller character. But that's still quite a low bar, technically speaking. And that took me ages. Sometimes I just want to fire one out; the ongoing curse of the Artist.

@astronomerritt

Sorry to hear that!

While you're without your meds, it might be worth upping the number of other dopamine creating activities that are relatively harmless, eg:

* Exercise
* Hugs
* Learn about something you're interested in
etc.

Consider setting a timer (or three) if you know you're about to do something you tend to get caught up in doing for way too long.

Good luck!

Frustrated this evening. Tried a whole set of good nighttime hygiene practices, was fairly ok then wide awake with racing mind, restless body and no temperature control.
So I've been up more than 2 hours.

From Rach Idowu:

"Procrastination, dread, scatter brain or analysis paralysis holds us back from doing things, even ‘simple’ things like household chores.

That’s ADHD for you!

Finding ways to get excited and simply tasks seem to help me quite a lot! What works for you?"
