Two posts for today as I introduce a "new" character to my DR 1357 Forgotten Realms game. One day, she will be Mizora, a cambion and power player of Hell's first layer. But right now, she is a 16-year-old girl with some scary magic and a stupid dog.

So the PCs in my AD&D/Etinerra/Western Borders campaign have moved into a new area on the map. So I had to do some hexgen.
THAT has lead to reconnecting with notes and hooks and ideas -- which has led to a little creative explosion over the past couple of days.
I think my PCs are going to look at me and say "Nooooo... go hunt or fish or something! We like sleepy DMs!"
The PCs (smartly) ran away from a nest of cockatrices tonight, enjoyed their first view of an ocean in my campaign, had a mysterious encounter with a croaking/thumping creature that they never saw, and bartering with littlelings at a traveling caravan.
The priest Lancel continues to make a name for himself in the region, and the players are enjoying a travel along civilized roads.
Is anyone still playing Champions/Hero System? I have some great new items in stock for you!
Also, some AD&D classics, play in Lankhmar, or explore the ruins of Greyhawk Castle.
WOTC brought back Greyhawk in the latest #DMG. This glorious map adorned my bedroom wall for several of my teen years in the 80’s

One of my #DnD and #ADnD pet peeves: An evil person going to the Lower Planes when they die isn't a punishment. It is filing them correctly. It may SUCK, but that's because your worldview is one of cruelty, and the world you went to reflects that. But it's not the Planes punishing you. You just suck.
On the subject of how rules differ between versions...
OD&D/LBBs - the spell "Cure Light Wounds" heals d6+1 same for potion.
AD&D/1e - the spell "Cure Light Wounds" heals d8 (no +1 pip), but the potion is 2d4+2!
OD&D/LBBs - natural healing is every other day (even days), complete rest required.
AD&D/1e - natural healing every day, complete rest required. CON factors into this (penalties always, bonuses after 1st wk).
Gets me EVERY TIME I switch games!
My #DnD gaming has been sporadic since before Christmas, but things are finally coming back around. My current active games:
Temple of Elemental Evil, 2nd edition #ADnD rules.
Horror on the Hill, #BECMI / Rules Cyclopedia.
5th Edition campaign set in my own world, currently dealing with a village beset by werewolves.
I enjoy them all. The system jumping can be a bit disorienting at times, though. 
Favourite adventure ever? That would be #ADnD #DwellersoftheForbiddenCity. A mini-campaign in a remote jungle, with lots of little dungeons & lairs in a ruined city. Far too short, but easy to expand.
It premiered great monsters like the Aboleth, Bullywugs, Mongrelmen and Tasloi

@phf Eigenlicher Grund für DIY Hexpaper war, dass wir in der zweiten Hälfte des #osr Wochenendes, #Adnd spielen wollten, in Fritz Leibers #Lankhmar Setting - um uns ein bisschen mit der Periode auseinandersetzen, in der Setting und „Story“ eine größere Bedeutung gewinnen. Sind dann bei #odnd geblieben und hatten kein Hexpapier dabei. Unserer Referee hat dann in Windeseile die Hexmap erstellt, auf Grundlage des Outdoor Survival (1972) Spielplans.

@luigirenna we Are aiming at a game historical approach: today it‘s all about #odnd plus material from the #Greyhawk and strategic Review supplements, tomorrow will be #ADnD 1st ed all day long. We play in an old house in the Harz mountains, in sight of some castle 
All of those RPG questions going around can be answered for me with three games: OD&D, AD&D and Classic Traveller 1977.
I've been playing them since 1978 and actually played all three in the past month or so.
