Although it's a 'small' film - dialogue-heavy, realistic, intimate - it's intentional discomfort (and THAT scene) deserved the focus the big screen allows. Being two people in an empty cinema helped too!Secondly, what a great depiction of the modern Jewish experience. Much like one of their fellow tourists, I come from 'Mayflower Jews' (those who left at the turn of the century, Dutch in my case). Although David and Benjy were 'only' third generation, David in particular captured an ashamed alienation I all too readily recognise. Some things especially hit close to home.But unlike how the film ends much as it began for the characters, a frozen snapshot, the takeaway for me was something genuinely affecting. I just haven't quite digested all the ways yet.Beautiful cinema. I'm glad I watched it. Jorge GallardoY acabamos con "A Real Pain", de Jesse Eisenberg, una road movie sobre dos primos judíos estadounidenses que se van de viaje a Polonia a hacer un Tour del Holocausto y aprovechan para visitar el pueblo de su abuela recientemente fallecida, la cual huyó a EEUU después de la Guerra.Se trata de una reflexión sobre la pérdida y el dolor a través de un vínculo familiar, el de estos dos primos, David y Benji. Tan distintos el uno del otro pero con un equilibrio precioso. Mientras Benji llena la pantalla con su carisma y su energía (y también su carácter caótico e impulsivo), David va llenando los huecos sutilmente, complementando a su primo y sirviendo de apoyo.David y Benji se retroalimentan el uno al otro y ambos evolucionan de una forma muy sutil pero que resulta muy bonita para el espectador.Kieran Culkin ofrece una auténtica demostración de lo que significa ser actor. Futuro ganador de un Oscar.
