Jonathan Kamens<p>Well, now, _this_ is interesting.<br>I think this is the first time since I started using <a href="https://federate.social/tags/Addy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Addy</span></a> everywhere that one of my anonymized addresses has caught somebody doing something "iffy".<br><a href="https://federate.social/tags/RCN" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RCN</span></a>, my internet service provider, gave my email address to a market-research firm, which sent me a completely generic invitation to take an "important survey about your internet service provider" without acknowledging that the survey was paid for by RCN.<br>This is kind of gross.<br><a href="https://federate.social/tags/marketing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>marketing</span></a> <a href="https://federate.social/tags/astroturf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>astroturf</span></a></p>
