I HAVE LIGHT 💡

That was weird.

WAIT was my house playing #AprilFools?

Probably something still needs fixing. More investigation tomorrow.

Anyone else go through the "I Am Incompetent and Cannot Conduct a Life" thing every time something at home breaks down?

I love telling jokes and being able to use my humor to break down barriers.

But sometimes, I wish people would take me seriously.

Like some people assume everything that comes out of my mouth is a joke. They start smiling and laughing before I even say anything. So weird.

I'm not just an incredibly handsome man with funny jokes. I'm quite intelligent too ya know? :)

Went to a family birthday yesterday. It's funny how much dysfunction exists between generations. Elder generation still believes in 'respect' and traditions. Easily offended. Younger generations have so much apathy, unmotivated and are oblivious to social cues.

So glad things like this only happen once or twice a year.

and I did not expect it to take all day (more or less) to do my taxes.

So I suppose if I did the math on how much my time is "worth", one could argue I'd be better off using an online service. But I hate that they lock your data up and make it hard for you to get to your own information. Ugh.

On the plus side, having spent most of the day doing my taxes, I feel like I can WHATEVER the f*ck I want to do for the rest of the day.

I just got a conversational opportunity to quote Tom Waits’ line from “Step Right Up,” (in gravelly voice) “The large print giveth, and the small print taketh away,” thinking as I said it that I would feel smug at the reference.
But given what we were talking about, I didn’t feel so good about its application to reality. 😔

My 80y/o father-in-law is staying with us for a couple of days. Having him over is like having a 2nd kid under 10 in the house.

Between him and my 7y/o daughter, it's like a circus trying to keep them out of trouble. They are both so curious and yet both lack the appropriate physical / motor skills 😅
