It's live! Amarok 3.2.2 has been released for Haiku.
After spending quite some time on it, it's finally done, is it perfect? No, but it's usable and running fine on my checks, so no use in holding back on it. A big thanks to upstream maintainer for thinking along and helping in making this possible!
Linux App Release Roundup (Feb 2025)
February was a bumper month for Linux app updates, bringing new releases of Mozilla Firefox, LibreOffice, ONLYOFFICE and more — as well as a slew of smaller app updates that didn’t get a full-length article on this blog. Rather than skip over them entirely I thought I’d resurrect my Linux Release Roundup thread1 to provide a monthly (perhaps twice-monthly, if there’s a lot) run-through of some of them. After all, for those of us on fixed-release Linux distribution like Ubuntu may find one of these smaller updates fixes a flaw or fleshes out a feature to make it worth upgrading

Going through the music selection at the moment. Started with Abba, then Agnetha Faltskog, Alan Parsons and now onto Amarok.

@oracle depends on what you want...
I guess @videolan / #VLC is too spartanic for your needs?
Maybe #Audacious or #AmaroK is more up your alley??
Or maybe #Phiola or #Dopamine???
#Qmmp looks very #WinAmp-esque to me...

Personally I'm just "#RawDogging" VLC in the background, but your use-case and mileage as well as necessary features may vary, so I can only recommend to look at @alternativeto and check the results...
I had no idea #Amarok was making a comeback. This is so awesome.
I first starting using it in 2004. I have been bummed for so long that it had gone dormant.
This is so wonderful

I am actually quite excited about the return of @kde's #Amarok media player. It was my media player of choice in the mid-2000's and made it possible for me to sync my iPod up to the music library on my Linux desktop.
I'm currently a #Strawberry user, but I have always missed Amarok.
3.0.1 (beta) is out now. There's definitely work to be done, but I should consider reading up on KDE's Testing/QA process to see if there's anything I can do to help.
