If you want to prove that cows exist, all you really need to do is show someone a cow. Look, here's the cow. Touch it. Hear it moo. It's real.
Now imagine how you would go about proving that cows don't exist. Think about it for a little while.
Sean Kirkpatrick, Director of the Defense Department’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), just retired. And he has things to say about how much money is spent on "UFO" research programs that are basically created by #UFO cultists and conspiracy theorists working for the US government itself. He calls it "a self-licking ice-cream cone".

Now let's think about this for a minute. And let's start by ditching the stupid term "UFO", Unidentified Flying Object. Hear me out on this: UFOs are boring. ANYTHING you see flying is unidentified, until you identify it and know what it is. And if you're really bad at identifying things, anything flying can be a "UFO". A bird. Venus. An inflated garbage bag. The ISS.
Flying objects, or aerial phenomena, don't become interesting until you can identify them. And, bear with me here for a moment: The US government would absolutely love to identify actual alien technology. Seriously. Can you imagine the edge that would give us? And that's why the government has been looking so hard, for so long, at #anomalous #aerial #phenomena. Since the 1950s.
And all of that searching has found nothing that can be identified as alien technology, or a flying vehicle of non-terrestrial origin. 1950s missile casings ... parachutes ... weather-observation satellites ... skeletons of animals launched into space for research purposes. And a host of other things. But not one single piece of alien technology.
But ... you remember what I said about proving a negative?
Well, here's how it works when you're a UFO cultist. You search and search for evidence that "UFOs" are real. And if you find evidence, you WIN!!! You've just proved that UFOs are real!
But if you DON'T find anything, you ALSO win. Because in your mind, the fact that you couldn't find anything proves that there is a government #coverup. It's the only possible explanation. If there was no cover-up, you would have found something. And the government cover-up means there must be something to hide, which — AGAIN — "proves" that UFOs are real.
Either way, you "win". In your own mind.
This is the cultist/conspiracy-theorist mentality. If you are certain that something must exist, but you cannot find any evidence of it no matter how you search, this proves that it exists AND that there is a government cover-up. It's circular logic. Delusional, magical thinking.
You see how this works...?
