This is the inside story of how a group of feminists forced political change.&gt;&gt;</p><p>around this time i was working for this amazing old character who had a) worked in coles book arcade when he left school b) loved to talk about how squizzy taylor never missed a payment on his gramophone while he was in prison c) lost everything during the great depression, and started over successfully. he was a real salt of the earth bloke. i was talking to a workmate about my difficulties in trying to open a cheque account and he marched me straight around the corner to his bank and told them to open an account for me. they were falling over themselves. Philip Mallis 🇺🇦<p>Something I learned last week at the Balwyn Historical Society was the purpose of these corrugated iron balconies that jut out from the rear of the Rialto Building on Flinders Lane.</p><p>These were actually toilets. It was an innovation at the time to provide them for each level in this way and they have been preserved through the site's redevelopments.
