UR-42544, Yakovlev Yak-42, Avia Express, parked across it's gate at Manchester Airport, some time in 1992 or 1993, as seen from the top of the |Terminal 1 car park.
The airport didn't have a towbar to fit this type, which explains the jaunty angle at which this is parked, to enable it to move away under it's own power once it completes the turn.

GlobalX flight attendants were told they would fly rock bands, sports teams and sun-seekers.

Then the company started expanding into deportation flights.

“They didn’t tell us these people were going to be shackled, wrists to fucking ankles.”

@elaterite Usually the instructor takes the radios for some lessons, to let the student learn a few things at a time. That student wanted to try on his first lesson. I coached him. He did a radio call.

After the flight, he didn't look happy. As we debriefed, it was the radio call.
I explained, "So you're unhappy you didn't sound like an airline pilot. Everyone who heard you [including his father who was on frequency] was impressed you didn't sound like a student pilot." #aviation #pilot #avgeek

@elaterite I once had a student who initially thought lowly of C172s because he rode along a lot in his father's high-performance Piper Comanche. But with one flying lesson his opinion was turned around to understand the purpose of a C172 as a stable basic airplane, easy to fly and good for learning in. #aviation #pilot #avgeek

My experience with #bridgy is that it doesn't work for all supposedly #bridged #bluesky accounts. I've tried following a lot of the #aviation bsky accounts where there's a "web.brid.gy" bc they all migrated there from Xitter, & none of their posts show up in my Home feed save for maybe 1 or 2. I follow the web.brid.gy account here in #Mastodon but for some reason there are no posts, or if there are posts, they don't #federate for some reason with my instance. Disappointed
