"Drop the boy" - Bros

Four weeks at number two and they ain't gettin' no higher.

Matt and Luke sing while a light shower dribbles in the background, Ken does whatever it is he does, and the lads all jump in very slow motion.

1988 was the first Mystery Year: not sure what the best song was (Pebbles? Bananarama? Shoppies?) but we might have consensus on the worst.

Listen, #bros - about #tech - about #TechBros.

The #Fediverse is filled to the brim with #besserwissers (or "better knowers"), #CallToAuthority, #AdHominem and other #LogicalFallacies.

I made it a point to just block these people, because at the end of the day they're not there to help, but to "shellac their roadster", to "wax their own board" so to speak.

If your idea is to deter others from learning or to be obnoxious: good job. If not? Check your attitude, check your behavior, be better.

What happened to Craig Logan?

Manager of such global artists as Sade, Pink and Tina Turner. He played a key role in the success of Robbie Williams and is the former head of the RCA record label. His girlfriends included Kim Appleby from Mel & Kim and Dannii Minogue.

He's just Ken.

"Drop the boy" is a very strange song: the backing track is instant and a complete earworm, the chorus is an anthem, but Matt's vocals in the verse are horridly garbled.

Clearly animated by something, but what is he singing about? How can we follow the thread of his rant when he's all "ken takka murder is it start anew"?

If only he'd had a better singing teacher, someone who taught him to enunciate. Must do better.

"Drop the boy" - Bros

Matt in the red jacket and spikey hair, Luke in the background looking very similar, Ken seems to have been posed in "jiggling" mode.

"The worst Bros single ever," opined our friends at Creamguide. Naah, it's better than "I quit". And better than "Chocolate box". And better than "Madly in love". (ctd)

Remember Bros? (Ask your kid sister.) They were big last year, but this time around was "Too much".

Matt is in a red bomber jacket with flowers on the sleeves, with matching hat. White trousers. The whole effect is rather like the Kansas City NFLball team after their travelling jackets were remixed by a bunch of Swifties.

Matt doesn't find the camera, which may be a deliberate decision, but means he looks distant, less involved than Jason a few minutes ago.

Most of the obscenely #wealthy and obnoxiously #loud #tech #bros you see turning up to Trump’s beat have enormous financial stakes in companies
-- whose business activities include either participating in or indirectly enabling things that the laws of the United States currently forbid.

Things like #laundering money for fentanyl dealers,
helping Vladimir #Putin evade sanctions,
running telehealth pill mills for #controlled #substances,
and ensuring #North #Korea has continual access to sufficient capital for its nuclear weapons program

-- all set against a backdrop of alleged securities #fraud and good old fashioned #embezzlement on a scale the world hasn’t seen since 1928.

RFC: what are we calling My Dating Life rn? We have The Domestic Partner, The New Roommate, The Ex-Army Guy, and B, recently released from Being Housed At The Commonwealth's Expense.

I don't love polycule. Sounds like a marine invertebrate. The Team? The Bros? The Fam? I'm open to suggestions. Go, in the replies.

Listening to the table next to us talk about how Hybrids really only can work in California (no idea why) then proceed to talk about “When Toyota has…”

“Bros… (It’s of course bros), there’s a wide range of Toyota hybrids from gas first, to plugin plus even full electric.”

„But neither invented #misogyny. They just used it. These were narratives the #bros of the #broverse were already spreading, which the invisible hand of the social media algorithms were pumping into people’s feeds. The same zombie narratives that have risen again for Kamala and are already being stoked not just by YouTube #edgelords and JD Vance fanboys but #Russia and China too.“
