stonehead
A few months ago, the book store #Bruna on Utrecht Central Station was renovated for a week. It was turned into a "gift shop" with self-service checkouts, with only half of the most far away space left to be dedicated to books and magazines. A despicable "improvement".

The #books hater who dreamt this up, did the same to the Bruna in Nijmegen central station last week. Less room for paper, less space to walk through if you actually want a book, less room for the employees even. Not long before the renovation, those employees had built a 'book island' for new YA and booktok titles. Those books now end up in the lowest shelf in a random closet. Apparently the profit margin is higher on Funko pops.

I hate capitalism.
