Continuing with small batch jams - wild strawberries from the bottom of our fruit tree and sakura pots on our balcony. Does this still count as wild?
Last year while walking my dog, I found a couple of cut off pieces of these plants on the sidewalk of our town. Someone had cut them off and dropped them on the street.
Brought them home, cleaned them up, removed some leafs and put it in pots on my balcony.
The App PlantNet identifies it as Heartleaf iceplant" or " Baby sun rose" (گل ناز یخی)
They have been growing beautifully since then and giving me cute pretty red flowers that turns into a slightly larger lighter red /dark pink color before drying out.
Now I have 3 of them, one has multiple branches, some over 60cm long.

Small batch pickling - two long cucumbers and a handful of beetroot. Enough pickle juice for another couple of glasses and later harvests. This time with Japanese grain vinegar instead of white or cider - let’s see how differently things taste.
What the squirrel hath wrought. WTF! Why the cardboard? Is it trying to build a nest on my deck?? We recently lost several trees, so maybe it's displaced?
It also disassembled one of my tomato plants and carried its remains over from the other end of the deck. WTF!! I only had 3 tomato plants, and they were actually doing well, for once!
Small batch jam making. From our first year dwarf black mulberry that is already trying to take over the balcony, there were 200g of berries.
Last year after a heavy storm, a branch of a tree broke in the park next door. I asked the Gardner if I could take it & he agreed.
Brought it home to the #balcony. planned it in a large pot with mix of old soil and compost.
Months later, all the leaves fell & I thought it was dead, but today I saw 3 new branches growing from the soil. I'm going to have a giant gorge flower tree in my next place, for free.

My habanero plant, I thought it's dead, have received and has a lot of peppers.
I really thought it's jalapeno. But I'm positively surprised to see that it's not.

Best part about an early summer - tomatoes for breakfast!
By keeping them in a greenhouse the entire time, it avoids blight from the storms.
DIY thin acrylic sheeting from a roll, screwed onto painted sperrholz with a proper thermal double-layer acrylic sheet (so expensive!!) for the roof, and a hook to prop the door open through hot weather.
Balcony flowers on a summer’s day.
