And there's the culprit.
The hose has broken right at the compression fitting.
When do I just write it off and get one from Coal Iron? They are, sadly, on the wrong side of the Canada/USA border.

#PhotoOfTheDay is of one of my early railroad spike twists. I grabbed this photo because I love the forging scale that has peeled from the surface like burned fragments of paper.
My induction forge just gave up. Over current fault, done.
So I openned her up and found a smoking gun. Two wires off the current sensor were fused together and arcing/burning. These part of the current measurement, coming out of the coils threaded onto the main power feed to the transformer coil and going to the power PCB.
Separating them leads to a functioning system again.
But: why were these so hot? Thoughts before I wrap them in tape and close up?

#PhotoOfTheDay is of a crucible cup full of screws heating up HOT inside of my forge... Heat, beat, repeat!
Does anyone need a blacksmith or think they might need blacksmith or low quantity machineing work in the future. (If i were to set up my own forge)
I am a blacksmith with expetience of 2.5 years of everyday forgeing and infrequent forgeing before that.
Located curently in southwest england
I am also capable of general machineing (lathe and drilling )
Mig and tig welding

And also if required i check all the drawings prior to construction at my cuttent job for spotting errors or things to optimise and could do so for you aswell.
I am looking for
Lgbt+ autism inclusive traditional blacksmiths
Lower amount of modern techniques (more historical) and higher quality products are prefered

Or
Tell me if you have any Blacksmith Jobs to complete myself in the UK for me to check how feasable my own forge would be
(I will likely not be capable of joining a new forge for about a year (and also dont expect many responses)
This is mainly to try and see if i have any good options here
Aditionaly these images posted do not include those whitch are on my current works website and therfore dont have some of my gates
Please be aware of this if you wish to hire me or are in need of services

The farm equipment recycler didn't want our disc harrow discs, but this seems like the perfect thing to build from them instead:

They're already in that flower shape with a center hole and pipe attached to it.
Putting it somewhere near the end of the overwhelming todo list!
#PhotoOfTheDay One of my railroad spike bottle openers in progress, with a twisted cube pattern. This one is still one of two bottle openers that I kept and still use regularly. Most others were given away as gifts. I should go back to doing that.
#PhotoOfTheDay is something different - one of my tidier blacksmithing creations, a table knife that started off as a piece of a very rusty spring or something, that I found on the side of a road.

A few weeks ago, we went with some friends to a knifesmithing workshop under the instruction of Dave Collier at http://www.brokenhammerforge.com and I could not resist the urge to nerd. #blacksmithing #BladesInTheDark

"While no longer common, #WaterWheels have an ancient history for use in #blacksmithing, #milling flour, and more.
"In the late 1800’s, they started to see commercial use for generating electricity.
"Though they are not as popular for energy generating today, many people still build them for use in low-flow areas, or as a fish-safe alternative to dams."

#PhotoOfTheDay is a very hot piece of twisted steel railroad spike, fresh out of the forge and laying on my old anvil. #photo #photography #forge #blacksmithing
I joined our local #Makerspace collective today and learned that they just celebrated their 10th year as a 401(c) registered nonprofit, quite impressive. I particularly like the wide gamut of interests that the members are into: #WoodWorking, #3DPrinting, #BlackSmithing, #Sewing, #ScreenPrinting, #Electronics and more.
I'm excited to be part of such an established and, from all accounts an, excellent community!
The book continues! If you're interested in these book postings, let me know. Otherwise I'll just keep it to myself.

Attempt 3 at making a copper hook on the anvil. This one started going south when I bent it on the edge instead of the flat, but I went with it and like how it looks overall. I totally fucked the top bit unfortunately and left some nasty marks trying to fix it

The #MadLad actually did it!!!
I mean, #Titanium #blacksmithing is really masochistic...
