Here’s another feature (this time from Netflix itself) on the importance of authenticity in production design of North of North.

Hey all, one been on the proverbial back foot all day, but I'm making progress on #crafting some Celtic coasters, to give to my MIL who has a craft shed she sells her own things from during tourist season.
I'm going to see if something might be good enough to sell, as terrifying as that is.
I've already had to learn I'm a human, not a machine, so products are similar but not identical.
Coasters here at different stages, though:
Fashion in ‘North of North’ has generated a lot of comment in social media.
I’ve noticed that many of these come with assumptions about what women would be wearing in Inuit communities, and a lack of understanding of the importance of sustainable design in Inuit culture.
CBC has a great feature with interviews with the show’s creators on the point.
‘The show's emphasis on slow fashion ran counter to a film industry that often operates on a quicker schedule.
"Nothing here is mass-made," Aglok MacDonald said. "So it really is going out to independent artists who are just crafting a few things here and there and seeing if they could put in a bulk order."’

Did some #DotPainting the last couple of nights. :) Made a little metallic blue and gold magnet, and also got started on a new larger stone with a flower-like design on it. Still trying to figure out the rest of the colours.

In this week's blog post I started another cross stitch project, this time an apple and fox autumnal piece from The Artsy Housewife.

#askfedi #maker I have a collection of #dolls and this is the first stand I’ve found that truly fits them well. Are there any #makers who could #3dprint or use #clay to make similar top pieces and round/oval bases for them? I also really like the metal part in the middle. How would I find such people? Thanks for any leads. #3dprinting #polymerclay #crafting

Coffee bean earrings? Coffee bean earrings. Idk what I’m doing but I have been wanting to make these for a while.
I would attach the charm a bit more elegantly, but I don't have more of the tunnels (so I swap out dangly earrings with the same tunnels). Perhaps I should get some more to make a more integrated version…
I craft, so I don't kill people" heranwagen soll.
Learning how to use polymer clay and 3D printed rollers to make walls!
Rollers used are from here, free from the author and print great on resin: https://www.myminifactory.com/users/randommakingencounters?show=store
Stopped into Joann Fabrics since they're shutting down and discounting everything. Grabbed some foam core boards and a few packs of fabric squares that are good for small projects (dice bags, pouches, that sort of stuff). Some of the fabric they had left was tempting but the line to get it cut was super long, I wouldn't have made it out for at least another hour.
The space bees fabric might have been worth the wait, though.
I highly recommend this book. It's full of wonderful ideas to make useful things out of things we may already have or can easily acquire — often via recycling
