It's #skyrizi injection day.
I missed the morning appointment on my calendar and just happened to have a mental spark of "isn't that supposed to happen today?"

So I clearly need to do something better with my reminders/appointments/thingamajigs.

Anyway, it's out and coming to room temperature.

Still better than having to drive 2 hours for a 3 hour IV infusion, then 2 hours back (and after Benadryl!) like I was doing for Inflectra.

Aren't bodies fun?

In today's episode of American #HealthCare Horrors, the copay for one dose of my #Stelara is $5,200.

(Thankfully, one copay will cover my yearly deductible and I won't have to pay anything the rest of the year.)

Super excited for four years of #MAHA blaming me for giving myself #Crohns disease.

Pro: My new gastro doc seems nice.

Con: She wants me to get a small bowel MRI. These are THE WORST. Like possibly even worse than a colonoscopy because the contrast tastes so vile.

Even bigger con: I have to jump through a bunch of pre-approval bullshit that I didn't have to deal with when we were in Kaiser Permanente.

Linking a particular bacteria of the gut microbiome in a chain that could potentially be a source of major depression. Follow up research could also show how environmental contaminants combined with the metabolism of the gut microbiome could be linked to autoimmune and other conditions.

I have a #colonoscopy on Monday (No. 13 or 14 I think, yay #Crohns disease.) I am extremely crabby about it but have decided to make the most of it by eating all the low-fiber junk foods I never eat before I have to stop eating on Sunday. Oreos, here I come.

Skyrizi injection done.
A five minute process is so much easier than a three hour infusion. Or the one hour infusion at a facility two hours away that the initial Skyrizi startup process involved.

As someone with a bunch of chronic health conditions, including #POTS and #Crohns disease, can I tell you one of the worst parts? When people make it about themselves. My mom is a master of that.

No comment on the #UnitedHeathcare news beyond this:

1. I have to switch to them in January unless Mr. Blue finds a different job in the meantime.

2. I am absolutely sure they will refuse to cover my #Crohns medication.

Prep mostly done. So it's stage 1 of checking out how to deal with ongoing (37 years) Crohn's and diverticulitis disease tomorrow. First up is a colonoscopy, which always fascinates the scientist in me if nothing else. #Crohns #Colitis #medicine
