My wife and I just watched this tonight. It’s a total banger. One of the best films I’ve seen in a while.

The two main characters are played SO well. The actors performed perfectly. Especially Emily Skeggs, who is an absolute joy. I laughed a lot.

Also, the opening design/typography are stellar. And the featured punk song, “Watermelon,” is rad.

I went to my local #AMC to watch the newly released version of #Nosferatu yesterday & I was disappointed.

The pace of the movie was too slow & lacked surprise/suspense & the "acting" was too over the top" -- more comedic to me than to be taken seriously. The make up job on the vampire was pretty good but it didn't "scare" me & he was so ugly I couldn't see how the object of his desire could even consider coupling with him -- if he had cast a spell over her, it went over my head because I didn't see that happening.

I could see this movie becoming a #CultClassic for a midnight showing where people can laugh their heads off & make fun of it.

Anyway, I didn't like it but I didn't hate it & I'd give it a 5 out of 10. Just not something I'd recommend anyone go out of their way to see.

In fact, I'd recommend looking for the original 1922 silent version of the movie instead, which I think is far better. It is is available to stream for free here:

In 1996, I went to a midnight showing of the 'ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW' in San Francisco wearing only a button-up shirt, socks, my own glasses and a pair of tighty-whities. The ENERGY was indescribable.

According to this mini-doc (a quick 14-minute watch), #RockyHorrorPictureShow is a 'musical comedy tribute to 30's sci-fi and B movies.' It's a very important touchstone of #queer culture and the very definition of a #cultclassic.
