Does anyone else think the Age verification stuff is just the start of mandated government digital ID? I mean “myGovID” changed to “myID” in an rebranding exercise last year.
I feel that eventually we’ll start seeing the need to link your Australian government ID to all sorts of online services.
Vendors like eBay sells some dodgy crap; kids could buy a pocket knife! Or, maybe VPNs? Kids might use them to circumvent stuff, so for safety “use your MyID to register your VPN and deanonymise your torrents, you know, for the kids!”
