Tactical Marine #14

She is ready to join my army/collection as a member of the Red Legion chapter.

Had some issues during painting and adding transfers, but generally pleased with the result.

Chapter symbol is a black skull transfer (cut out from it's white background circle) over painted yellow fire. All the other free skull transfers I have are white!?

I painted this (and made the easel) for a Father's Day years ago.

As usual for me, it's tiny; Dollshouse-scale.

I referenced a photo I found online, labelled only as a traditional ancient chinese building.

Enamel paint on polyurethane.
50x40mm

Plague Marines.

This squad, from the Dark Imperium box set, was modified to make them more unique and clean up some of the casting limitations.

Some minor re-posing, carving holes deeper and more ragged, etc. plus added tentacles.

And the grass on the bases can be seen dying as they step on it.

I decided upon Red Legion as the chapter for this marine.

Mainly because of the cool chapter symbol that fits well with my army theme (with fire representing entropy and chaos).

That means Red armour.
And to hopefully distinguish it from the Blood Angels marine I already have, I used blues to shade and highlight a different red (mixing in a dark / light blue into the red).

Onwards.

'nids playing 40k.

Often my most popular build wherever I post it. This was just a silly "in-between projects" pallet cleanser.

Built during the Dark Vengeance period, hence the themed colour schemes for the 'nids; Dark Angels Vs. Chaos.

Transition piece example scale model.

The transition piece of an offshore windmill sits at sea level between the underwater support and what you see at the windmill.

This was built as a test commision for a company that designs the windmills.

I built this from scratch to the CAD designs at 1:48 scale. I recreated everything to my highest level of accuracy.

Here you see the lower platform of this section and a ladder up to the upper floor.

I've now added details to the weapon arm of the Safeguard Necron.

Finally remembered to use the tiniest of off-cuts of plastic I keep (rather than cutting more). Much more will be used across her body.

Marble drop earrings.

Sculpted from epoxy putty.
The "gem" was created by painting a hole silver then filling it with "water effects".

I also attepted the paint them as red marble for a change.

Revilers Space Marine.

Wanted to make use of one of these swords I was gifted and decided to make this chap all melee.

Plus, I used bits from the 2010s all the way back to the '90s, just for fun.

I can't remember why I chose Revilers, but that is a freehand chapter marking.

The arms are now on the Safeguard Necron, and the torso has been cropped to leave room for a waist.

That's the basic framework, now to add a ton of details.

Female Space Marine is now all one colour and ready for painting.

The Hobbits on Weathertop.

A set of tiny halfling miniatures (quite litterally half the height of the usual 28mm mini').

As they were sculpted to match the Weathertop scene from the film, that's how I painted them and created the bases to match the flagstones in the scene.

Bonus, late in the day wip.

Miss Space Marine is now on her base.

I cast up a hollow helmet rather than drilling out the solid helmet.

She has now moved to the painting desk.

Broken Bell Tower.

Built as a prize for a terrain contest on DakkaDakka.

The recipient wanted a multi-level tower for the ttg.
Making it a bell tower was a call back to the '89 Batman film, and I threw in various other references as well.

I was asked to include a reference to the Odessa gang, and so I hit up a Ukrainian I knew to give me something "gangster-like" to graffiti (My dyslexia then missed out a letter that I had no hope of noticing).

N-Gauge train display base.

Some backstory; All the model train stuff was my Grandfather's and was inherited by my Father. Unused for many years, one day we could not find it and believed it stolen.
Then, while looking for something else, I stumbled across it all.

I kept it quiet and built this display base for one of the trains. And then surprised my Father with it and a pile of boxes of N-gauge stuff.

And a bit more on the Safeguard Necron.

Torso on and leaning back as far as it could on the "spine" of the hip piece.

And the head attached.

I'll need to chop some off the lower rib area of the torso to slim down to the waist.

Hopefully you can see the vision.

!

Primaris Intercessors Squad A.

From the Dark Imperium box set.

I painted these up in a unque paint scheme to make them stand out (and allow anyone to add them to their army), and left space for a chapter symbol to be added later.

Then gave them custom made bases of cracked flagstones.

The answer was, of course, both.

Although with minimal alterations, the female space marine is likely to be finished first.

As the "new" combi-weapons come with 1 bolter and 4 top options, I have cast extra bolter parts to make use of them all (eventually).

The Sanakan Necron is in the process of re-posing. I'm aiming for the ref' pose on the left, with the S-shape of the right.
Selected head from a Dark Eldar Wych, with the top knot removed.

!

Celestial Azure earrings.

Making use of the smaller attachment point of the backs by sculpting in deep cuts to the shape of these.

And then painting them with a colour-shift paint to accent the shape.

Dire Avenger #2

Missing an arm upon indoctrination to the army, this dire avenger was gifted a new arm by The (Mad) Scientist.

A simple modification with an added flesh cable and some putty work at the shoulder.
