Camping trip was exactly what I needed. So many #eagles spotted this weekend. This one let me get pretty close.

And the crows for the win!!!
Actually, while eagles do mess with crows when they can, this one didn't seem to have an intention to do so (as I mentioned earlier, I think he was interested in having duck for lunch) but you just don't get near crows' territory during nesting season, every eagle should know that.

Fights between crows and black kites are frequent as you may know. The most common are at the end of autumn and right now. At the end of autumn because they're competing for food mostly, and right now because it's nesting season for the crows, and this is when you don't want to mess with them.

They didn't move when they saw me. They stayed still and didn't come for more peanuts, which was odd.
I soon understood why.
A black kite was flying above the estuary at quite low altitude and coming closer to them.

Anybody need an offseason fix of #Eagles action? Here's a great clip show that includes the Big Plays from every game of the season, with original commentary. Pretty long and pretty dense, so might be worth two viewing sessions, but a bunch of fun moments I had forgotten!
