While #PamBondi has yet to actually specify what “improper public comments” #Boasberg made to elicit such an attack, both her chief of staff & the right-wing #FederalistSociety have reported that this huge, inappropriate mistake Boasberg made was simply expressing his (valid!) concern that the #Trump admin was liable to “disregard rulings of federal courts leading to a #ConstitutionalCrisis,” while at a judicial conference.

Going to repost this from my main on SFBA dot social because I think this is the opening gambit in game over for the United States:

"The #SupremeCourt seems stunningly unconcerned with its own legitimacy at a time when its approval is at historic lows and a large majority of Americans view it as politically partisan."

#SCOTUS has taken off the mask

#JohnRoberts does not care

#Project2025 is the law of the land

#LeonardLeo and the #FederalistSociety are in a position to remake the #UnitedStatesOfAmerica as a weak #Confederation of conterminous states, each governed according to its own priorities and laws

National education standards? Forget it. It's up to each "state"

Don't want to educate Hispanics? Or Negroes? Go for it

Also see heath care, food inspections, etc etc etc...

There will be no bottom

Trump’s judicial power play sparks GOP civil war as he nominates loyalist Emil Bove—a former criminal defense lawyer—to the federal bench, alarming conservative legal elites who fear he’ll prioritize loyalty over law. The clash threatens Trump’s alliance with the Federalist Society and could reshape courts for decades, testing whether Republicans will rubber-stamp a nominee critics call unfit. With SCOTUS vacancies looming, the GOP faces a defining choice: uphold institutional norms or fully embrace Trump’s vision of a weaponized judiciary.

Lots of examples of how the very people who ushered in this fascist administration are now fighting against it in court. An illuminating article in this regard but what did they think was going to happen? Is their new-found advocacy on behalf of democratic principles a mea culpa? How much money are they making with this change of position? I would like more. . .

President Donald #Trump is being warned that he "chose the wrong targets" when he went after the powerful #FederalistSociety and its co-founder as part of his war on judges who refuse to bend to his will, according to a #PoliticalScience professor writing for #MSNBC.

…Despite the falling out between #Trump & #LeonardLeo, many legal conservatives…expected him to remain influential in the choices Trump makes for judicial nominations in his 2nd term.

But the full-on rupture evident in Trump’s post Thurs signals that Trump may now view nominees’ #FederalistSociety ties as toxic & any sign of a link to Leo could doom a potential nominee. That could lead to more extreme or inexperienced nominees for the federal bench….

#LeonardLeo, in a brief statement in response, did not criticize #Trump.

“I’m very grateful for President Trump transforming the Federal Courts, and it was a privilege being involved,” Leo said. “There’s more work to be done, for sure, but the Federal Judiciary is better than it’s ever been in modern history, and that will be President Trump’s most important legacy.”

The ruling was temporarily stayed by an appellate court on Thurs. 1 of the judges on the 3-person panel that blocked the tariffs is Timothy Reif, who was appointed by #Trump in his first term.

The blame, Trump said, lay with the #FederalistSociety.

“I am so disappointed in The Federalist Society because of the bad advice they gave me on numerous Judicial Nominations,” he wrote. “This is something that cannot be forgotten!”

#Trump leveled unusually pointed criticism of a prominent #conservative legal activist & organization Thursday as he railed against a ruling that struck down his sweeping #tariffs.

The president, in a post on his social media platform, slammed #LeonardLeo, the former chair of the #FederalistSociety, calling him a “sleazebag” who “probably hates America.”

"a public break between #Trump & the #FederalistSociety could create seismic #political waves. All of the current sitting right-wing justices are allies of the “sleazebag” Leo & owe their positions to him...

#Leo was also largely responsible for the Federalist Society gravy train that Justices #ClarenceThomas & #SamuelAlito rode for decades...

If Trump can turn so quickly on Leo, he could turn on the justices… and they could turn on him."

John Amato reveals Stephen Miller's explosive criticism of the Federalist Society and Leonard Leo’s influence on Trump's decisions, claiming their actions threaten presidential power and democracy. Miller argues that judicial oversight hampers effective governance, particularly around immigration issues. This raises questions about Trump's judicial appointees and the vetting process.
