The plying's done, and this morning I wound the yarn into skeins so I can wash it. 8 ounces of three-ply yarn, 924 yards before washing. (The yarn will almost certainly floof and lose a few yards in the wash, which is desired. I'll re-measure when I wind it up to knit with.)

My next project will be a gradient spin.

@jocelyn hi Jocelyn, I know you’ve got about a million tips now, so might be a bit overwhelmed! One thing I found was super-useful for getting to know more #knitting and #sewing friends here was to follow a few events too - great posts on #fiberuary #memademay and #fallfinishalong gave me some more ideas about who would be good to follow. All very seasonal, but I have found some fantastic people as a result, hope that you do too

#FiberArtCamp WIP Wednesday, part 3

In other #weaving projects, I have a half-finished rutevev piece on the tapestry loom. That's about 15 years old. It's woven in four shades of wool I dyed with woad.

The yardage I wove for #Fiberuary hasn't been made into a lined bag yet. I have to mock up the bag in old cotton first, to work the bugs out of the pattern.

I have two natural #dyeing WIPs: one for the yellow yarn for the chiton, and another for yarn for two rutevev camping cushions.

A make-a-long for pride month! To participate use the hashtag #PrideMakealong . Follow @PrideMakealong for weekly prompt reminders and boosts from the community. (Tag us if you'd like to be boosted!)

The rules:
1. Be Queer.
2. Make something!

"Make" here is really open: do fiber arts, write a story, bake a cake, design a circuit board, take photos, whatever works for you. It can be new work or old.

If you're an ally or stealthy or just want to do more, you can also...

3. Support queer businesses and creatives by using supplies/designs/inspiration from them and telling us about them. Links appreciated!

Inspired by #Fiberuary on Mastodon and the #QuietQueerCraftalong elsewhere.

Remember that last bowl of yarns stuck in the leftover snow/dye melt water?

I put some extra acid in and have left them on the counter for quite a few days, and the water is almost clear. Look at how the colours separated on the yarn I'm heating it now and I'll leave it out until I've got time to rinse it tomorrow, but it looks pretty nifty!

#fiberuary is over, but March is National Crochet Month! The Longmont Yarn Shoppe is "yarnbombing" a tree in front of the store. In the spirit of #IntentionalHoles week, here's the strip of crocheted-together granny squares being given a loopy edge that will make it easier to affix it to the tree.

That loopy edge is:

sc, [ch2, skip 1 stitch, sc in next stich]* to end of row.

The plan is to install all the pieces on Friday, so I should be able to share some photos then!

i dropped the ball about halfway through #fiberuary but i think today is gonna be a big crafty day! it's my last day of spring break without plans (i have Things happening all weekend) so i'm gonna pull out all the hobbies and see where the day takes me

gonna start by updating my live show battlejacket for the rotting christ show on saturday, i have a couple patches to sew on and some replacement spikes for the ones that went missing

Closing out with my least ambitious #VisibleMending, I suppose, a single stitch torn on my dog's sweater. I find dog sweaters very freeing as a medium since my dog hates everything I put on her equally.

Having done one single stitch, more seemed to be called for, so I tried my first embroidery in perhaps twenty years. I suspect this is very indifferent embroidery, but it makes me happy! #Fiberuary

It’s the end of Fiberuary & I’ve slacked on posting but not on knitting! I made this capelet/“un-poncho” - which includes some belated intentional holes - this past week. It’s casapinka’s Pawp Tart in Valley Yarns Haydenville Bulky. I really enjoyed making it & the final product is great at keeping my shoulders warm while I’m knitting in bed. (I’ll add links in a comment)
