I have framed my recent #quilting inspired studies and will be showing them at the upcoming @peakdistrictartisans #SpringArtFair 12/13 April. They were all supposed to be the same size but unfortunately I picked up two different sizes of Aida fabric for them so the blue one is a bit bigger You live and learn!

Well I've finally finished Silver Surprise which features birch trees near #SurpriseView I will have it framed and on display at my next event which is the @peakdistrictartisans Spring #Art Fair in Buxton 12/13 April. 1/7 This is the little artwork I mentioned over on my Pixelfed (@LevendLichtje@pixelfed.social). Hope and light you can touch—just like the much larger (5-meter-high) installation I posted about on Pixelfed.

In this thread, I’ll dive deeper into the big artwork! (2011)

A small, square, black-framed artwork with a brass nameplate reading "Lichtpuntje." Inside the frame, a dark fabric background features a delicate, gold-embroidered starburst pattern. At its center, a tiny real light glows softly, creating a subtle focal point.

A large-scale light installation inside a dark church bell tower. Hundreds of thin glass fiber threads cascade from a hidden point near the ceiling, illuminated from within. The fibers glow softly, creating the effect of a shimmering waterfall of light stretching five meters downward. Tiny points of brightness scatter along the strands, resembling stars or falling sparks. The surrounding darkness enhances the sense of depth, making the threads appear as if they are floating. Viewers can walk freely through the fibers, causing them to sway gently, altering the patterns of light. The artwork is shown here from the point of view of someone in the middle of it, looking upwards.

It will be a little while before my Pixelfed arrives at the moss art, so I thought I'd share another one here for now. There are more of these in the makings, but for #ThrowbackThursday this one is nice too!

The new series of #LAOTY starts tomorrow & I was a #WIldcard this year! The only textile artist taking part in heat 4. Producing a stitched landscape in just 4 hours was quite a challenge, especially as my unusual medium drew a lot of interest and questions from the audience! Heat 4 airs at 8pm on 12th Feb, Sky Arts, Freeview ch 36
