@Tiempo I would say that in combat is neither particularly easy nor hard to resolve. It's a system that is "middle crunch" in my opinion. You do track things like health and attackers make rolls against you, but the system is really open to creativity and lets players help define the environment, so it's seldom just a "punch it out" situation. You can introduce elements to the scene and be clever in dealing with adversaries.

@Tiempo It went well despite people being new to the rules, and we only needed 3 structured rounds. The PCs were attacked by a swarm of eels when getting out of their boat to pull it ashore. We had a nice mix of combat checks against the eels and other checks to get the upset boat and spilled equipment to safety. Combat doesn't have to go until the other side is defeated, just until the threat is resolved.

Just finished GMing our sixth session of Doskvol. The PCs used almost all their downtime on reducing heat from their previous splashy heist, then headed into the Lost District to cross two small tasks off their job board. They had their first combat encounter ever.

@Blahmage We play , which is a generic system that can be used to play a variety of genres. We have used it for fantasy before, but also for steampunk, weird war, and heists. Our campaign is inspired by the video game Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.

Genesys is very flexible, so we were able to easily homebrew a few specific rules for our game, such as what types of spells Mariah's fungus magic can do.
