Seven rows of carrots direct sowed using the Jang seeder and fleeced to warm the soil and protect from frost. They were Autumn King variety which are supposed to be good for storing.

This afternoon I have sown 2 types of Tomato (Ailsa Craig and Limonita F1), Chilli Pepper (Quick Fire F1), and Spring Onions (Totem).
I've put the tomatoes and chillies in the heated propagator. The onions can take their chance in the #greenhouse but I've put an upturned clear plastic tray over them to trap a little more warmth during the day.
I put a stool in the greenhouse and I could quite happily sit in there doing nowt all afternoon!

Although I grew up on a tropical island, it was in Brazil that I first saw a papaya tree in person. There's something truly magical about being able to walk outside and pluck an exotic fruit straight from the source. Mother Nature's farm-to-table service at its finest!

I was very surprised that the veggie garden handled the total neglect over those 5 days so well. Including a day over 40C. The strawberries were slightly non-plussed 
but revived.
The first task after arriving home late arvo was a deep water for the veg garden, and to pick produce for dinner. More picking today - so many chillies have ripened! More dehydrating for them.
Die Nachwuchs-Chilis trödeln, den Lichtverhältnissen entsprechend, vor sich hin. Aber ein paar von den überwinterten sehen schon ganz vielversprechend aus.
