My sister, visiting the ol' hometown from Australia, appears to have taken her oatcake obsession to the next level.

This rustic, leaf-shaped talisman features a Tyr rune carving on a bold statement chain.

- the weighty pendant is made of silver plated pewter
- Tyr is the rune of the Norse God Tyr; it is a protective rune of justice
- hangs on a heavy statement chain of sterling plated brass measuring 26" or 66cm long
- closes with an embellished pewter toggle clasp

In some traditions, the spear-shaped Tyr rune corresponds to the North Star.

Had some leftover bits of silver so I melted them together to form this organic rock-like pendant. Found a suitable garnet to set into it and a lovely rough pendant was born.
I feel reusing everything is just the most satisfying end result.

Just had the loveliest experience while getting my watch strap resized at Silver Phoenix in Bray. They’re a tiny, independent two-person jewellers – Jolita and Martin – and they took such care (Martin resized it three times and did a micro-adjustment and then undid it until we found the perfect fit).

In a world of faceless corporations you forget sometimes how lovely people can be.

Marble drop earrings.

Sculpted from epoxy putty.
The "gem" was created by painting a hole silver then filling it with "water effects".

I also attepted the paint them as red marble for a change.

This morning I’ve picked up a silver poppy design that I started months ago, then set aside for some reason, accompanied by The Unthanks. I’m just getting back into the making groove, then I’ll have to stop again to go to Proper Work tomorrow, which is vexing.

And then painting them with a colour-shift paint to accent the shape.
